Great Ming Code
The Great Ming Code (Da Ming Lü) was the legal code of the Ming Empire, issued under the Hongwu Emperor and finalised in 1397. Building on Tang traditions, it set out laws and punishments and remained in force, with adaptations, as a model for the later Qing code.
