Great Zimbabwe culture
The Great Zimbabwe culture refers to the civilisation centred on Great Zimbabwe on the southern African plateau, dated on the site to around 1100 to 1450 CE. It is known for its dry-stone enclosures, cattle wealth and long-distance gold trade. The Rozvi Empire inherited and revitalised its stone-building tradition at sites such as Danangombe, Khami and Naletale.
