Grouville Hoard

1st century BCE · 1st century BCE · Also known as Le Câtillon II hoard

The Grouville Hoard, also called the Le Câtillon II hoard, is a large Iron Age coin hoard found in 2012 at Grouville in Jersey by two metal detectorists. It contains around 70,000 Celtic coins, mostly of the Coriosolites of northern Brittany, together with gold torcs and jewellery, and was probably buried around the time of Julius Caesar's campaigns in Gaul. It is one of the largest Celtic coin hoards ever found.
