Rance

The Rance is a river in Brittany, France, about 100 kilometres long, flowing north to the English Channel between Dinard and Saint-Malo. Its long estuary was the heartland of the Iron Age Coriosolites and an important route for medieval Breton trade. The Rance Tidal Power Station, opened across the estuary in 1966, was the world's first large tidal power plant.
