Dol-de-Bretagne
Dol-de-Bretagne is a town in north-eastern Brittany, France, near the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. By tradition it grew from a monastery founded by the Welsh saint Samson in the 6th century, and its bishops, from the 9th century until 1199, claimed to be archbishops of all Brittany. The bishopric was abolished in 1790, but its Gothic cathedral of Saint Samson survives.
