Holy Robe
The Holy Robe is a relic kept in Trier Cathedral and venerated as the seamless tunic worn by Jesus before the crucifixion. Tradition says Empress Helena sent it to Trier; it is first clearly documented in the 12th century and was first shown publicly to pilgrims in 1512. Later exhibitions, as in 1844 and 1996, drew hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
