Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi
Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi was ruler of Ras al-Khaimah from 1869 to 1900. A member of the Qasimi family, he made Ras al-Khaimah independent of Sharjah, and it was treated as a separate sheikhdom under British protection during his reign. After his death in 1900 Ras al-Khaimah returned to the control of Sharjah's ruler until it again became separate in 1921.
