Irredentism
Irredentism is a political movement seeking to annex territories inhabited by people of the same ethnicity or regarded as historically belonging to a nation. After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, its successor states left significant minorities across new borders. This fuelled irredentist politics in the interwar period.
