Jagmal Singh
Jagmal Singh was the founder of Banswara, a Rajput princely state in southern Rajasthan. A son of Rawal Udai Singh of Dungarpur, who was killed fighting alongside Rana Sanga at the Battle of Khanwa in 1527, he received the eastern part of his father's lands across the Mahi river. There he founded Banswara, named by tradition for its bamboo forests, which his descendants ruled until 1948.
