Jiangsu
Jiangsu is a coastal province of eastern China, on the lower Yangtze and Huai rivers, with its capital at Nanjing. Its southern part, including Suzhou and Yangzhou on the Grand Canal, was for centuries one of the richest regions of China, a centre of silk, rice, salt and scholarship. Nanjing served as capital for several southern dynasties, the early Ming and the Republic of China.
