Person
K. J. Ståhlberg
Kaarlo Juho Ståhlberg was a Finnish lawyer and the first president of the Republic of Finland, serving from 1919 to 1925. As the main author of the republican constitution of 1919, he worked to heal the divisions of the civil war, pardoning many imprisoned Reds. In 1930 he was kidnapped by activists of the far-right Lapua Movement, an episode that discredited it.
