Kahahana
Kahahana was ruler (aliʻi nui) of Oʻahu from 1773, chosen by the island's chiefs. Raised at the court of Maui under Kahekili II, he later quarrelled with him over land and had the influential priest Kaʻōpulupulu killed. In 1783 Kahekili invaded Oʻahu and defeated him; Kahahana fled into the mountains but was later hunted down and killed, and Maui ruled the island until 1794.
