Kalasasaya

The Kalasasaya is a large rectangular platform enclosure at Tiwanaku, near Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, bounded by walls of tall upright stone pillars. It was probably used for ceremonies and for observing the movements of the sun, and it contains the Ponce and Fraile monoliths. The Gateway of the Sun stands in its north-western corner.
