Gateway of the Sun
The Gateway of the Sun is a monolithic stone portal at Tiwanaku, near Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, carved from a single block of andesite about 3 metres high. Above the doorway a frieze shows a central staff-holding deity flanked by rows of winged attendants, an image that spread widely in the Andes with Tiwanaku and Wari influence. It now stands in the Kalasasaya enclosure, though perhaps not in its original position.
