Kamianets-Podilskyi

Also known as Kamieniec Podolski, Kamenets-Podolsky

Kamianets-Podilskyi is a city in western Ukraine, in the historical region of Podolia, built on a rocky island in a loop of the Smotrych river. Its castle, strengthened by the Koriatovich princes in the 14th century and later by the Polish crown, made it the chief stronghold of Podolia. The Ottomans held it from 1672 to 1699.
