Khizr Khan (Khalji prince)
Khizr Khan was the eldest son of the Delhi sultan Alauddin Khalji and for years his designated heir. After Alauddin took Chittor in 1303, the fort was renamed Khizrabad and placed under him. Intrigues by the regent Malik Kafur led to his disinheritance and blinding in 1316, and he was killed in 1318 on the orders of his brother Qutb ud-Din Mubarak Shah. Amir Khusrau celebrated his romance with the princess Deval Devi.
