King Kang of Zhou

King Kang of Zhou was the third king of the Western Zhou dynasty, the son of King Cheng, traditionally reigning in the late eleventh and early tenth centuries BCE. His reign, with his father's, was later idealised as the 'Peace of Cheng and Kang', when the realm was stable and punishments were seldom used. Bronze inscriptions record campaigns in his time, including a victory over the Guifang described on the Xiao Yu ding.
