Komenda
Komenda is a coastal town in the Central Region of Ghana, west of Elmina. In the 17th century it was the port of the Akan kingdom of Eguafo, and both the English Royal African Company and the Dutch West India Company built forts there. Their rivalry over its trade led to the Komenda Wars of 1694–1700.
