Kondapalli

Kondapalli is a town near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, India, known for its hill fort and its brightly painted wooden toys. The fort was a stronghold of the Reddi kings in the 14th and 15th centuries and later passed through several dynasties before coming under the British. The Kondapalli toys, carved from a light local wood, are a recognised craft tradition.
