Krishna River
The Krishna is one of the major rivers of peninsular India, flowing about 1,300 kilometres from the Western Ghats in Maharashtra east across Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to the Bay of Bengal. Its fertile lower valley and delta supported the Satavahanas, the Ikshvakus of Nagarjunakonda and the Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi, and it often marked the frontier between Deccan powers.
