Ikshvaku

Ikshvaku is a legendary king of ancient India, son of Manu, regarded as the founder of the Solar dynasty that ruled Kosala from Ayodhya. Rama, hero of the Ramayana, belonged to his line, and the Buddha's Shakya clan and many later royal houses claimed descent from him.
