Iksan
Iksan is a city in North Jeolla Province in south-western South Korea. In the Baekje period it was known as Geummajeo and was an important royal centre, with the great Buddhist temple of Mireuksa. After the fall of Goguryeo, Silla settled the refugee prince Anseung and his followers there in 670, creating the short-lived state of Bodeok.
