Anseung

fl. 670–683 · 7th century · Also known as Ansung

Anseung was a member of the Goguryeo royal family whom Silla recognised as king of Goguryeo in 670, after the fall of Goguryeo to Silla and Tang China. Silla settled him and his followers at Geummajeo, modern Iksan, where his state was later called Bodeok. He married a Silla noblewoman and in 683 was moved to the Silla capital, after which his kingdom was abolished.
