Yellow Sea
The Yellow Sea is the northern part of the East China Sea, between mainland China and the Korean peninsula. It takes its name from the yellow silt carried into it by the Yellow River. Across it ran the sea routes linking the Korean kingdoms with Chinese courts, used by envoys, monks and merchants such as Jang Bogo.
