Telangana
Telangana is a state of southern India on the Deccan Plateau, with its capital at Hyderabad. The region was ruled by the Kakatiya dynasty from Warangal, then by the Bahmani and Golconda sultanates and the Nizams of Hyderabad. It became part of Andhra Pradesh in 1956 and, after a long movement for statehood, a separate state in 2014.
