Kopperunchinga I
Kopperunchinga I was a chief of the Kadava family who ruled in the northern Tamil country in the early 13th century, as Chola power declined. Around 1231 he captured the Chola king Rajaraja III and held him at Sendamangalam, until the intervention of the Hoysala king Narasimha II forced his release.
