Kota Tinggi

Kota Tinggi is a town on the Johor River in the Malaysian state of Johor and the seat of the district of the same name. In the seventeenth century it was a royal seat of the Johor Sultanate, and there in 1699 Sultan Mahmud Shah II, the last of the Malacca line, was murdered; his tomb lies nearby. Its waterfalls and the old royal tombs make it a centre of local heritage.
