Kullu Dussehra
Kullu Dussehra is a week-long festival held each autumn on the Dhalpur maidan at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, beginning on Vijayadashami. Hundreds of village deities are carried in palanquins to pay homage to Raghunath, the presiding god of the former Kullu kingdom, whose chariot is drawn through the town. The festival dates from the 17th century, when Raja Jagat Singh installed the image of Raghunath at Kullu.
