Lefkandi
Lefkandi is an archaeological site on the west coast of Euboea, in Greece, between Chalcis and Eretria. It was a prosperous settlement in the Early Iron Age, when much of Greece was poor and isolated. Its best-known find is a large building of about 950 BCE containing the rich burials of a man and a woman, with horses, showing contacts with Cyprus and the Near East. It was abandoned around 700 BCE.
