Loma people

Also known as Loma, Toma

The Loma are a Mande-speaking people of north-western Liberia, mainly in Lofa County, and of neighbouring Guinea, where they are called Toma. They farm rice in the forest highlands, and the Poro society is central to their social and religious life. In the 1930s a Loma script was devised for their language.
