Guinea
Guinea is a country in West Africa that was part of French West Africa under the French Empire. In 1958, under Sékou Touré, it rejected de Gaulle's proposed French Community and chose immediate independence. This decision helped trigger the rapid dissolution of French colonial administration in sub-Saharan Africa.
