Lord Chak

fl. c. 900 · 10th century · Also known as Chan Chak K'ak'nal Ajaw

Lord Chak, recorded as Chan Chak K'ak'nal Ajaw, was a ruler of the Maya city of Uxmal in the Puuc hills of Yucatán around 900. Inscriptions associate him with major building works, and he is thought to have commissioned the Governor's Palace and other monumental structures that make Uxmal a masterpiece of Puuc architecture. Under him Uxmal appears to have led a regional state.
