Chaac
Chaac is the Maya god of rain, lightning and storms, often shown with a long curling nose and an axe that strikes the clouds to bring rain. He was especially important in the dry Puuc region of Yucatán, where long-nosed masks traditionally identified with him cover the façades of buildings at Uxmal, Kabah and other sites. His cult survives in rain ceremonies in Yucatán today.
