Guatemala
Guatemala is a region of Central America, home to Maya peoples and their states. It lay beyond the core of the Aztec Empire, whose trading and military reach extended towards the region. After the fall of the Aztecs, Spanish forces campaigned into Guatemala, bringing it into the Spanish colonial order.
