Ma Xi'e

Ma Xi'e was ruler of Chu, a Ten Kingdoms state in Hunan, from 950 to 951. An elder son of the founder Ma Yin, he was passed over in favour of his brother Ma Xiguang in 947, rebelled from Langzhou and seized Changsha at the end of 950. His misrule provoked a revolt that deposed him, and the Southern Tang occupied Hunan in 951, ending the Ma family's rule.
