Maheshwar

Maheshwar is a town on the north bank of the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh, India. Ahilyabai Holkar made it the seat of the Holkar government in the later 18th century, building its fort, ghats and temples, and encouraged weavers whose Maheshwari saris remain famous. It is also a Hindu pilgrimage centre.
