Mansura, Sindh
Mansura was the capital of the Arab province of Sindh, founded in the 730s by the Umayyad governor Amr ibn Muhammad near the Indus, north-east of modern Hyderabad in Pakistan. From the 850s it was the seat of the Habbari dynasty, and Arab geographers described it as a prosperous trading city. It declined after Mahmud of Ghazni's conquest in the 1020s, and its ruins lie near Shahdadpur.
