Margaret, Countess of Comminges

c. 1363–1443 · 15th century · Also known as Marguerite of Comminges

Margaret was countess of Comminges from childhood until her death in 1443, the last of the line of counts. Her three marriages, the third to Mathieu de Foix, led to long disputes over her inheritance, and she spent many years imprisoned by her last husband. After her death the county passed to the French crown, and Charles VII annexed it in 1454.
