Garonne

The Garonne is a major river of south-western France, about 530 km long, rising in the Spanish Pyrenees and flowing past Toulouse and Bordeaux to join the Dordogne in the Gironde estuary. In antiquity it marked the boundary between the Aquitani and the Celtic Gauls, and it has long carried trade between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean by way of Toulouse.
