Mithra
Mithra is an ancient Indo-Iranian deity of covenant, truth and light, closely associated with the sun. Venerated in the Avesta and honoured throughout the Iranian world, he appears as Miiro on the coins of the Kushan emperors and as Mihr in later Persian tradition. He is distinct from, though related to, the Mithras of the Roman mystery cult.
