Munychia

Also known as Mounichia

Munychia is a steep hill in Piraeus, the port of Athens, with a harbour of the same name below it. Its fortified summit commanded the harbours: in 403 BCE Thrasybulus defeated the Thirty Tyrants there, and from 322 BCE a Macedonian garrison on Munychia held Athens under control for much of the following century.
