Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil

Also known as Nallur Kandaswamy Temple

Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Murugan at Nallur, near Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka. The original temple, linked with the kings of Jaffna, was destroyed by the Portuguese in the 17th century; the present building was raised in the 18th century under Dutch rule. Its annual festival is one of the largest gatherings of Sri Lankan Tamils.
