Nanjaraja

Also known as Nanjarajaiah

Nanjaraja was an eighteenth-century minister of the Kingdom of Mysore from the Kalale family. With his elder brother, the dalavayi Devaraja, he dominated the court of Krishnaraja Wodeyar II from the 1730s, holding the office of sarvadhikari, and he drew Mysore into the wars of the Carnatic around Tiruchirappalli in the 1750s. The soldier Hyder Ali rose in his service and pushed the brothers aside by 1761.
