National Assembly of Kuwait
The National Assembly of Kuwait is the country's elected parliament, created by the constitution of 1962 and first elected in 1963. It is the most powerful elected legislature in the Gulf, able to question and remove ministers. The emir retains wide powers, however, and has suspended the assembly several times, notably in 1976, 1986 and 2024.
