National Assembly (Hungary)

Also known as Országgyűlés

The National Assembly is the single-chamber parliament of Hungary, meeting in the Parliament building in Budapest. Its history reaches back to the medieval diet, and since the free elections of 1990 it has elected the prime minister and the president. The 2011 Fundamental Law, adopted by a two-thirds majority, reduced its size to 199 members.
