Nationalist Liberal Party

Also known as Partido Liberal Nacionalista

The Nationalist Liberal Party (Partido Liberal Nacionalista) was the political party of the Somoza family in Nicaragua, formed in the 1930s by supporters of Anastasio Somoza García from the Liberal Party. It dominated elections and patronage throughout the Somoza dictatorship, alongside the National Guard, and collapsed with the revolution of July 1979.
