Nimbalkar
The Nimbalkars are a Maratha family who ruled the jagir and later princely state of Phaltan in the Satara region of Maharashtra. Claiming to have held Phaltan since the late 13th century, they are counted among the oldest Maratha houses and served the Deccan sultanates, the Maratha kings and the Peshwas. Shivaji's first wife, Saibai, was a Nimbalkar of Phaltan.
