Ntusi

c. 1000–1500 · 11th century

Ntusi is an archaeological site in western Uganda, the remains of a large settlement occupied from about the 11th to the 15th century. Excavations have found evidence of cattle herding, grain farming, pottery and iron working, and large artificial reservoirs. One of the earliest large settlements in the interlacustrine region, it is linked by historians with the rise of the Kitara states.
