Nyanza, Rwanda

Nyanza is a town in the Southern Province of Rwanda that became the permanent royal capital under Yuhi V Musinga around 1899. Until then the court had moved between residences. A reconstruction of the traditional royal palace and the palace built for Mutara III Rudahigwa in the 1930s are now museums, and the tombs of Mutara III and Kigeli V are nearby at Mwima.
