Nyaya
Nyaya is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy, concerned above all with logic, the means of valid knowledge and the theory of argument. Its founding text, the Nyaya Sutras, is attributed to Gautama and dates from the early centuries CE. In the 14th century Gangesha of Mithila founded the influential Navya-Nyaya, or 'new logic', making Mithila a leading centre of the school.
